Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Field Engineer to join our team at TDA Group, specializing in the installation and commissioning of essential telecommunications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install a diverse range of networking devices, including switches and out-of-band (OOB) equipment, ensuring meticulous mounting, cabling, and labelling.
- Ground equipment and connect power cables to existing systems, adhering to electrical safety regulations.
- Configure networking devices in accordance with client specifications and network requirements.
- Integrate equipment into the telecommunications network, ensuring accurate labelling and thorough documentation.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the installation or commissioning phases, including connectivity challenges and equipment failures.
- Implement stringent quality control measures to guarantee that all work aligns with industry standards and client expectations.
- Maintain detailed records of all installation and commissioning activities, including as-built documentation and test results.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, warehouse personnel, and fellow engineers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies, particularly when working in third-party environments.
Qualifications:
- FOA Certified Fibre Optic Specialist in Testing.
- EUSR Telecoms accreditation.
- Proven experience in the installation and commissioning of networking equipment within data centres or telecommunications environments.
- In-depth knowledge of fibre optic cabling and testing methodologies.
- Possession of a valid UK driving licence.
