About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Actuarial Analyst to join our team at The Medical Protection Society Limited. As a key member of our Actuarial team, you will play a crucial role in delivering best-in-class analysis to support capital modelling and actuarial model implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of annual capital assessments for MPS discretionary business, ensuring accurate and timely results for financial planning and decision-making purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our capital model, working closely with actuarial colleagues to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with actuaries across the capital and reserving function on various projects, leveraging your analytical skills and expertise to drive results.
  • Ensure the quality of data used in actuarial processes is of the highest standard, reconciling with source data from our data warehouse.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in actuarial analysis, identifying opportunities to improve our processes and enhance the use of actuarial analysis within MPS.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or Computer Science.
  • Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and their application in a data science and statistics context is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to present data, analysis, and conclusions clearly both orally and in writing.
