Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rolling Stock Engineer to join our team at Siemens Mobility in Glasgow. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will work closely with the Production, Technical, and Performance teams to ensure the maintenance and reliability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate rolling stock casualties and undertake maintenance and repair of allocated rolling stock to meet production plan requirements.
  • Mitigate the risk of in-service failures through proactive intervention.
  • Download and process train diagnostic data, undertake fault finding to an advanced level.
  • Provide technical support to Operator's maintenance staff as Siemens representative on shift.
  • Respond to trends in unit defects and make recommendations on possible mitigations and counter measures.
  • Undertake performance analysis duties during periods of downtime or absence.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of Rolling Stock systems/procedures, including schematics, fault finding techniques, and download analysis.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, including bio-hazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • Ability to fault-find using diagnostic software.
