Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. As a specialist in bilingualism, you will play a key role in supporting children and families from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills in a forward-thinking community team. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to provide high-quality services to children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), with a particular focus on bilingual children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Speech and Language Therapy at a highly specialist level, with a focus on bilingualism.
  • Demonstrate clinical leadership in bilingualism and represent the local team/service area in meetings to support and develop quality services for bilingual children.
  • Manage a team of Speech and Language Therapists, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality services.
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues and partners, using highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Apply BCHC Trust policies regarding staff management with fairness and compassion.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist with:

  • A first-degree level qualification relevant to the service area.
  • HCPC Licence to practice.
  • Full Membership of a Professional body relevant to the service area.
  • Evidence of recent relevant CPD activities in bilingualism.
  • Relevant training in clinical leadership.
