Speech and Language Therapist in Bilingualism

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team in Birmingham. As a specialist in bilingualism, you will play a key role in supporting children and families from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills in a forward-thinking community team. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to provide high-quality services to children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), with a particular focus on bilingual children.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Speech and Language Therapy at a highly specialist level, with a focus on bilingualism, in partnership with other agencies and disciplines.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership in bilingualism and represent the local team/service area in meetings to support and develop quality services for bilingual children.
- Manage a team of Speech and Language Therapists, comprising of bands 4 to 7, and develop strong working relationships with colleagues using highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Apply BCHC Trust policies regarding staff management with fairness and compassion.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with:
- A first-degree level qualification relevant to the service area.
- HCPC Licence to practice.
- Full Membership of a Professional body relevant to the service area.
- Evidence of recent relevant CPD activities in specialist area.
- Relevant training in clinical leadership.
