About the Role

Babcock International Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Marine Structures Engineer to join our team in Plymouth. As a key member of our national team, you will be responsible for authoring, reviewing, and substantiating marine and structural designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Author and review substantiation reports and designs for installation solutions.
  • Lead the production of substantiation reports for design solutions throughout the design lifecycle phases.
  • Coordinate and lead design teams and stakeholders to ensure design functionality and coordination.
  • Develop innovative design solutions with robust engineering substantiation.
  • Provide solutions to manufacturing and installation issues.
  • Produce, approve, and authorise technical reports and other documentation.
Requirements
  • High level of developed knowledge and experience in marine structures engineering.
  • Direct accountability for design development and problem-solving within the specialist subject area.
  • Ideal degree qualification in an engineering discipline, or HND/HNC level qualification with extensive experience.
  • Member of a relevant institution (e.g. RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst) and hold Chartered status.
