Job Title: Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst

Babcock International Group is seeking a skilled Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst, you will be responsible for executing and delivering complex FEA analysis tasks, using your deep technical knowledge to support product development throughout the design lifecycle.

The Role

  • Execute and deliver complex FEA analysis tasks.
  • Use your deep technical knowledge to support product development throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support to key customers.
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of engineering outputs.
  • Generate appropriate analytical methodologies for the optimisation of stress analysis studies and produce appropriately justified technical solutions, interpreting, and converting analysis results into practical design outputs.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience

  • The role requires professional expertise, knowledge & experience in FEA.
  • Mechanical or structural experience within ships.
  • Nonlinear analysis experience
  • You should have experience in the use and application of ANSYS (preferable), LD-Dyna or Altair Hyperworks (desirable).

Qualifications

  • HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Degree level qualification is advantageous.
  • Be a member of a relevant institution (e.g., RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.) and hold Chartered status or have a route to Chartership.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
