About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Dietetic Practitioner to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our nutrition and dietetics team, you will play a vital role in supporting adults who have had a stroke.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Dietetic Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a client-centred nutrition and dietetic service to adults who have had a stroke.
  • Obtaining and reviewing sensitive information from various sources to inform nutritional health decisions.
  • Advising, monitoring, and supporting adults according to agreed protocols, with regular progress reporting to supervising dietitians.
  • Communicating complex nutritional information to adults, carers, and staff, taking into account potential barriers to understanding.
  • Organising dietetic assessments, treatments, and support for adults who have had a stroke, including the delivery of oral nutritional supplements and liaison with other agencies.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A Higher Apprenticeship Level 5 / Foundation Degree / Diploma (QCF 3 / Level 4 NVQ) or equivalent in a related subject.
  • Experience working in a healthcare support worker role, particularly with individuals who are malnourished.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Good time management, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • A flexible approach to work and a willingness to work as part of a team.
