LGV Training Assessor

Job Overview
As an LGV Training Assessor, your main responsibility will be to enhance the quality of vocational driver training and assessments provided at DPD. This will involve practical assessment, induction, training, and mentoring of drivers. You will support the LGV Training department in its mission to continuously improve driver training and ensure that our operations are not disrupted by external factors through regular site visits.
Key Responsibilities
The following tasks are indicative and may evolve based on business requirements.
Operational Duties
- Execute LGV CE assessments in accordance with the pre-use policy and DPD driving standards across the organization, including agency assessments, annual evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Prepare assessment reports to meet company standards and ensure timely communication of results to relevant departments for necessary actions.
- Facilitate LGV CE agency inductions adhering to DPD standards, including vehicle familiarization and best driving practices.
- Complete all necessary induction documentation and ensure its distribution to all pertinent departments.
- Provide support as a buddy for inexperienced drivers within both Transport and Network divisions.
- Report all issues promptly to ensure timely resolution by relevant departments.
- Conduct site suitability assessments at DPD locations and customer sites to verify the accommodation of LGV CE equipment.
- Assess route suitability for proposed LGV vehicle operations and ensure alignment with the intended equipment.
- Where necessary, deliver training on equipment (e.g., PHV Trailer training) to DPD employees or customer staff.
- Ensure all findings from site and route assessments, as well as equipment training, are communicated promptly, escalating any concerns immediately to avoid delays.
- Complete all administrative responsibilities to a high standard throughout your employment.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Security protocols at all times across our sites and those of our customers.
- Relay all relevant Health, Safety, and Security information to drivers during assessments, inductions, and training sessions.
- Provide necessary Health, Safety, and Security information to customers and their employees during site evaluations and equipment training.
Required Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must possess a full LGV CE license with a minimum of three years of experience. A clean driving record and compliance are essential. Additionally, we expect:
- Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours, travel, and occasionally stay away from home.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Basic IT proficiency.
