About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Children's Services team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services to children with a range of functional difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Occupational Therapists in delivering assessment and therapy to children with SEND
  • Provide administrative support to the Occupational Therapy team, including documentation and record-keeping
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists and Physiotherapists
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, families, and carers
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills and ability to learn new systems
