Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital. As a key member of our Children's Occupational Therapy service, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to neonates and infants.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly-specialist assessment, diagnosis, and care plans for clients with complex needs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Contribute to policy and practice development in specialist areas, including neonatal care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and excellence in practice.
  • Design and deliver training and education programs for other professionals, students, and parents.

Requirements
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Extensive post-graduate education and training in Paediatric Occupational Therapy, including neonatal care.
  • Proven experience in highly-specialist assessment, diagnosis, and care planning for clients with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to policy and practice development.
