Assistant Maintenance Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team at Leader Recruitment Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical maintenance to our machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance of machinery, including shrink wrappers, conveyors, generators, chillers, and bottling machinery.
  • Urgent breakdown response, minimizing machine downtime.
  • Electrical repairs, including motors, drives, inverters, encoders, boards, wiring, switches, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC fault finding.
  • Recording and communicating findings.
  • Assisting with projects and new plant installations.
  • Effective communication with the engineering manager.
  • Developing and implementing line improvements, new installations, offline repairs, planned maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Adhering to company policies, ordering parts, and inventory management.
  • Planning scheduled works and breakdowns.
  • Covering for the manager in their absence.

Requirements:

  • Electrical qualification or willingness to undertake training.
  • Electronics/PLC experience.
  • Pneumatics knowledge.
  • Mechanical engineering background.
  • MIG and TIG welding skills.
  • Proven track record in engineering and fault-finding roles.
  • Strong work ethic and can-do attitude.

Working Conditions:

The position is based on a 5-day week, Monday to Saturday, with an average of 48 hours per week. Covering two sites, a company pension scheme is also in place.
