Electrical Engineer

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
  • 5 days over 7, including evenings and weekends
  • Shift rota for event days and non-event days

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking a dedicated Electrically-focused Site Engineer to enhance our dynamic team.

As an Electrical Engineer within our vibrant events venue, you will be immersed in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team that shares a profound enthusiasm for live performances. We are in search of a candidate who not only possesses robust technical expertise but also embraces the lively atmosphere of live music, which is integral to our operations.

Your primary responsibility will be to guarantee the safe and effective functioning of all technical systems and infrastructure. This includes the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems. You will closely collaborate with the events team, who, like you, value live music and foster a collegial working relationship. Together, you will facilitate event setups, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure adherence to safety regulations. Proactive problem-solving, regular inspections, and coordination with external contractors will be key aspects of your role.

A comprehensive understanding of building systems, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for event attendees are essential in this position.

This role reports to the Technical Account Manager and includes the responsibility of mentoring and developing an Electrical Apprentice on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3
  • Relevant Inspection and Testing Qualification (C&G Electrical Installation, Testing 2391/2394/2395/AM2)
  • 17th and/or 18th edition
  • AM2 or equivalent (desirable)
  • IOSH Working/Managing Safety (desirable)

Key Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Preferred IPAF (3A – Mobile Vertical)
  • Ability to work independently with high-quality standards.
  • Open-minded approach to design and modification of existing systems for optimal operation.
  • Electrically biased with a solid understanding of mechanical and building services.
  • Familiarity with general risks and hazards in commercial building environments.
  • Minimum of L8 Awareness formal training.
  • Strong understanding of legal compliance and maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset for improving existing systems and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows-based systems.
  • Sound knowledge of operating software-based lighting control systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of operating a Trend BMS system with the ability to make necessary adjustments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Overall accountability for the timely completion of all maintenance and reactive tasks related to client assets.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain the efficiency and safety of M&E installations, including fire safety and life safety systems.
  • Maintain records and computer-based management systems to national standards, including statutory testing and inspection.
  • Perform maintenance on M&E services and installations, including electrical systems and heating installations.
  • Ensure works are completed to standards and within budget, meeting client satisfaction.
  • Support arrangements for subcontractors to perform routine and emergency maintenance.
  • Assist clients in setting maintenance priorities and budgets.
  • Prepare planned maintenance projects, including schedules and specifications.
  • Provide technical M&E advice and support to clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals on project work and contribute maintenance information.
  • Participate in site and property teams, providing technical input in various areas.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the Asset Management Plan in collaboration with clients.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by the client and Pareto FM Account Manager.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients when issues arise.
