Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs school. As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of learning activities and promoting pupil learning in a range of classroom settings.

About the School:

Our school is a NAS-accredited institution with an Ofsted rating of 'Good', catering to academically able autistic students with associated difficulties, including ADHD and complex needs. Our dedicated staff are committed to creating a learning culture that enables the best possible outcomes for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of agreed learning activities and promote pupil learning in a range of classroom settings.
  • Contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school.
  • Work collaboratively with Classroom Teachers and Senior Leadership Team to achieve pupil outcomes.
  • Understand and support pupil learning affected by physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
  • Make effective use of ICT for classroom and management support.
  • Provide support and encouragement to children and young people.
  • Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
  • Participate in the marking of pupils' work and accurately record achievement/progress.
  • Encourage children to value their experiences and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with the school's systems and structures, including Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
  • Be familiar with the SEN Code of Practice.

Requirements:

  • Teaching or teaching assistant experience.
  • Relevant education or qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
