Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner Radiographer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise to deliver high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Imaging Services
  • Carry out a full range of imaging examinations pertinent to the specialist area to a consistently high standard, ensuring compliance with imaging protocols.
Teaching and Supervision
  • Teach and supervise radiographers, students, apprentices, and SPRs in the latest imaging techniques and best practices.
Operational Supervision
  • Be responsible for the operational supervision and management of the allocated area, assessing and managing workflow to utilize available resources to deliver prompt, efficient, and effective service.
Quality Assurance
  • Evaluate resultant images for quality, instigating remedial actions as appropriate and alert clinicians of any abnormalities as appropriate.
Protocol Development
  • Regularly help develop and draft changes to Plain film protocols, ensuring best practice through evidence-based information.
Departmental Contributions
  • Participate in the departmental Quality Assurance programme to ensure the efficient operation of the highly technical equipment, and to ensure compliance with best practices, especially with reference to minimizing radiation exposures.
Professional Development
  • Give theoretical instruction, practical guidance, and supervision to less experienced staff, Apprentices, Student Radiographers, and trainees, both Radiographic and Medical.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Able to work, where appropriate, in partnership with other professionals, support staff, patients, clients, and their relatives.
Clinical Governance
  • Participate in Clinical Audit and Research.
  • Participate in the department Quality Assurance Programme.
  • Be aware of the implications of COSHH and the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure their guidelines are followed.
  • Participate in the investigation of complaints and untoward incidents.
Education and Training
  • Participate in pre and postgraduate training of qualified staff where appropriate.
  • Provide supervision to support staff as appropriate.
