Role Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join our team at Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. Our service provides care and treatment for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in their homes and clinics.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life of patients living with COPD, empowering them to manage their condition and making their own decisions. We work closely with colleagues in local hospitals to facilitate hospital discharges and support admission avoidance, as well as chronic disease management and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering care in patient homes, you will be comfortable making decisions and working independently with the support of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • You will have experience of caring for patients with COPD, but full training and support will be provided.
  • You will primarily work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm; however, we are a 7-day service, and once fully trained, you will be required to work approximately 1 in 14 weekends.
  • Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you can travel independently across the city and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
