About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our Histology team at Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our staff, ensuring the highest standards of care and quality in our pathology laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of Histology to support the training and development of other staff members.
  • Carry out and oversee routine histology practices, including dissection, microtomy, embedding, manual coverslipping, troubleshooting, and validation of reagents.
  • Support the organisation in validating and assessing new histology equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of quality management systems required for UKAS accreditation.
Requirements
  • Relevant laboratory experience in histology with multi-disciplinary biomedical science.
  • Extensive histology experience, with knowledge to accompany this at specialist diploma level.
  • Good understanding of laboratory processes and day-to-day running of a laboratory.
  • The ability to understand the importance of maintaining good customer relationships and providing high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.
