The Catering Operations Officer plays a pivotal role within the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust's Estates & Facilities division. This position underscores the significant advancements the Trust is making to enhance our infrastructure, fleet, and accommodations, all of which will be managed directly through the Facilities Management Transformation initiative.

The individual in this role will report directly to the Facilities Manager Catering Lead and will act as a deputy for the Facilities Manager Catering Lead concerning all catering-related services. The primary objective is to ensure the provision of a high-quality and cost-efficient catering service for patients, staff, and visitors.

The postholder will be tasked with coordinating, planning, and supervising operations within the catering team across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. This includes ensuring that the services provided are performance-monitored, quality-assured, and compliant, enabling internal operational staff to effectively deliver the necessary care through patient feeding.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Facilities Managers, the Trust Dietician lead, and clinical managers to guarantee the delivery of a compliant catering service while managing production processes to ensure adherence to control procedures and cost minimization.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Trust Standard Financial Instructions and relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Oversee and manage staff, consultants, and contractors as projects evolve.
  • Identify, organize, and develop necessary tasks for the catering department.
  • Conduct catering audits and oversee equipment and catering testing.
  • Assist in mobilizing contracts, which may require occasional weekend or out-of-hours work.
