This position entails overseeing the corporate governance framework of the Board by spearheading the ongoing enhancement and execution of governance systems, ensuring compliance with legal mandates and statutory powers.

The successful candidate will provide strategic counsel and facilitate the efficient operation of the Scottish Ambulance Board, Governance Committees, Executive Team, and Management Groups, adhering to best practices in corporate governance and administration. The role includes primary responsibility for managing governance issues related to the Board and its Committees, serving as the principal contact for all Board-related matters, and offering support to Board members and senior management throughout the organization.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and collaborating closely with the Chair and Non-Executive Board members, the postholder is expected to contribute professional insights in corporate governance and administration to guide decision-making processes within the Board, Governance Committees, and Executive Team. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, particularly at senior organizational levels, with a readiness to challenge governance or policy matters when necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and professional standards, complemented by a degree or equivalent experience.
