We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Team Leader to deliver person-centred care and support to children in a specialized Children's Home setting.

The successful candidate will have a background in working with children who exhibit Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and possess complex needs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviours are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

To address the needs of children by:
- Ensuring all staff are familiar with each child's care plan and their respective responsibilities.
- Participating in childcare reviews and planning meetings to share insights and achieve optimal outcomes for young individuals.
- Engaging directly with young people and serving as a positive role model.
- Keeping precise written documentation.

To lead a staff team by:
- Providing supervision and guidance.
- Overseeing shift planning and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Offering consultation and informal support.
- Acting as the 'on-call manager' to provide after-hours assistance in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Managing staff performance and conduct issues.
- Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Conducting management investigations as necessary.

General Duties:


- Supporting the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager in executing all aspects of the Statement of Purpose.

- Conducting in-house workshops on childcare topics to enhance training and improve practices.
- Driving company vehicles as needed.
- Ensuring appropriate resource allocation and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Participating in supervision aligned with Quality Standards and taking responsibility for personal development and training needs.
- Developing systems for effective resource management by:
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet the Home's needs.
- Monitoring budgets and financial transactions, including petty cash and staff attendance.
- Keeping company vehicles clean and well-maintained.
- Overseeing the condition of the building and grounds, taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Promoting the efficient operation of the Home by:
- Collaborating with young people and staff to establish routines for childcare.
- Setting clear expectations for maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Creating shift schedules that align with children's needs and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Ensuring compliance with Quality Standards through effective reporting and documentation.
- Managing all administrative tasks related to the Home and providing weekly management reports as required.
Requirements:
- Experience in working with children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and complex needs.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours using verbal, non-physical, and physical interventions.
- Strong communication skills with children, professionals, and families.
- Proficiency in IT for documentation purposes.
- A valid driving license is preferred.
- Must be compassionate, patient, empathetic, and dependable.
- A good team player.
