We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Team Leader to deliver personalized care and assistance to children in a specialized Children's Home - Solo Placement.

The ideal candidate will have a background in supporting children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties, possessing strong communication abilities and the capability to manage challenging behaviors effectively.

Duties

To address the needs of children through:
Ensuring that all staff members are informed of each child's care plan and their roles in its execution
Participating in childcare reviews and planning meetings to share insights and achieve optimal outcomes for young individuals
Engaging in direct interactions with young people and serving as a positive role model
Maintaining precise written documentation

To oversee a staff team through:
Providing guidance and direction
Managing shift planning and ensuring operational efficiency
Offering consultation and informal support
Assuming the role of 'on-call manager' to deliver out-of-hours assistance in the absence of the Registered Manager
Exercising managerial oversight and direction
Assisting with staff recruitment and retention, including onboarding training for new hires
Addressing performance and conduct issues among staff
Conducting management investigations as necessary

General responsibilities :


To support the Registered Manager and/or the Deputy Manager in executing all aspects of the Statement of Purpose.

To facilitate in-house workshops on childcare topics to enhance formal training and improve childcare practices.
To operate company vehicles.
To ensure appropriate resource allocation and accurate financial record-keeping.
To receive supervision in accordance with Quality Standards and to take charge of personal development and training needs.
To establish systems that guarantee effective resource allocation through:
Maintaining adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of the Home
Ensuring effective budget management and proper monitoring of financial resources, including petty cash and staff attendance records
Ensuring that company vehicles are well-maintained and clean
Closely monitoring the condition of the building (including fixtures, amenities, and grounds) and taking necessary corrective actions
To promote the efficient operation of the Home through:
Collaborating with young people and staff to develop routines related to all aspects of childcare
Clarifying expectations for maintaining a clean and orderly environment
Creating schedules that align with children's needs and facilitate smooth shift transitions
Ensuring appropriate reporting and documentation systems are in place to comply with Quality Standards
Addressing all administrative matters concerning the Home and providing weekly management information reports as required.
Requirements
Experience working with children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties who have Complex Needs.
Ability to manage challenging behavior through verbal, non-physical, and physical intervention techniques.
Effective communication skills with children, professionals, and their families.
Proficiency in IT for documentation purposes.
A valid driving license is preferred.
Must demonstrate care, patience, compassion, empathy, and reliability.
