About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic to join our team as a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care to detainees in a dynamic and lively environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide acute medical healthcare to detainees, including assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody suites.
  • Collect forensic samples, including road traffic offence bloods, and assist the police with their investigations.
  • Signpost and conduct referrals, offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending.
  • Deliver substance misuse therapies and promote good personal healthcare.
  • Work with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs.

Requirements
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Acute medical healthcare experience
  • Previous experience in any of the following would be ideal: A&E, walk-in centre, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, as a Paramedic Practitioner, Registered Nurse or other relevant discipline
