Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking a Scientific Software Engineer to become a vital member of our Clinical Systems Development Software team.

The Clinical Systems Development team is responsible for the innovation and enhancement of Waters Clinical and IVD Systems, encompassing both hardware and software solutions. This role presents an excellent opportunity to engage with a team dedicated to delivering exceptional value in the clinical market by evaluating, developing, and deploying cutting-edge clinical system functionalities.

As part of the Clinical Systems Development team, you will be instrumental in creating software utilized by scientists and clinical professionals globally for scientific analysis. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including software developers, testers, R&D engineers, and development scientists.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing algorithms and software utilizing standard libraries for mathematical modeling and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python (experience with C# is advantageous).
  • Familiarity with Bayesian Data Analysis.
  • Engaging in team and project continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with software testing engineers to enhance product quality.
  • Building effective working relationships across departments.
  • Contributing to the frameworks and methodologies for continuous integration and delivery.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess some of the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software development, particularly with C++ and/or Python.
  • Practical knowledge of sound software engineering practices (e.g., Unit Testing, TDD, CI/CD, SOLID principles).
  • Experience in modeling real-world problems, preferably using Bayesian Data Analysis.
  • Familiarity with Markov Chain Monte Carlo techniques.
  • Interest or experience in mentoring junior engineers.
