About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Market Abuse Surveillance Analyst to join our dynamic team in London. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our firm's reputation by ensuring compliance with market abuse regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead regional coordination of Market Abuse Risk Assessments (MARA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Prioritize areas for control improvement within our surveillance framework.
  • Contribute to the development of new surveillance scenarios to enhance our ability to detect market abuse.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen governance practices related to trade surveillance.
  • Monitor alert volumes and quality trends, providing insights into the effectiveness of our surveillance program.
  • Support regulatory examinations by providing relevant documentation and information.
  • Develop systematic processes for escalating potential compliance issues.
  • Provide valuable input on key metrics and indicators used to measure the success of our surveillance program.
  • Assist with management reporting, including presentations to senior leadership.

Your Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Compliance, Surveillance, or Internal Audit within a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of securities markets and regulations, particularly UK/EU MAR.
  • Familiarity with conducting risk assessments in the context of market abuse.
  • A proactive approach to identifying potential non-compliance issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling clear and concise interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
