We are seeking a highly skilled Market Surveillance Analyst to join our Compliance team at MarketAxess Holdings Inc. in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our electronic markets and maintaining a strong compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities- Trade Surveillance and Monitoring: Monitor and close market surveillance alerts and electronic communications to identify suspicious behavior that could be indicative of market abuse, insider trading, or inappropriate market conduct.
- System Calibration and Maintenance: Calibrate and tailor monitoring systems to ensure that alerts are generated optimally and reduce false positives across trade surveillance and electronic communications systems.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce and check reliable MI on surveillance activity to support the Senior Surveillance Officer in reporting to Boards and governance committees on the market abuse governance and control framework.
- Market Abuse Risk Assessment: Assist the Senior Surveillance Officer to perform the annual market abuse risk assessment (MARA) for each trading venue across EMEA & APAC.
- Policy Review and Maintenance: Review policies and procedures relating to market abuse and electronic communications.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate paperwork and records to document decisions and track attendant actions arising from the Board and governance meetings.
- Training and Development: Prepare training material for staff relating to market abuse.
- Technical Enhancements: Manage technical enhancements relating to compliance monitoring software such as Scila (trade surveillance) and Global Relay (electronic communications).
- System Changes and Updates: Implement system changes arising from changes to market abuse regulations, guidance, or best practice.
- Incident Investigation and Escalation: Escalate and investigate exceptions and incidents arising from market abuse and electronic communications monitoring.
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare material relating to STOR or SAR notifications to regulators.
- Education and Experience: A graduate with good academic qualifications, preferably with a STEMS degree. Experience of having worked in market surveillance is preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Interest in financial markets, data analysis, and compliance. Willingness to learn about the technical aspects of market surveillance. Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Central Location: Based at our city offices near St Paul's.
