Job Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our team at RSK Group. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a key role in providing technical and project administrative support to our senior colleagues, including fieldwork, report writing, and subcontractor communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to senior colleagues, including fieldwork, sample processing, and laboratory liaison.
  • Project Administration: Assist with project administration, including report writing, subcontractor communications, and cost appraisal.
  • Fieldwork: Conduct fieldwork, including emergency response mitigation works, spill and ground investigation techniques, and sample collection and logging.
  • Reporting: Compile technical reports, prepare letters, and general correspondence.
  • Research: Conduct desk-based research and prepare site plans.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine care maintenance and calibration of field equipment and company assets.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to RSK Group management systems, including site-specific and point-of-work health and safety risk assessments and method statements.
  • Communication: Maintain accurate site notes, excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills at all times.
  • Client Relations: Maintain positive relations with current clients and interested parties by ensuring a high standard of work and presentation.
  • Information Management: Effectively manage information and occasionally write reports.

Requirements:

  • Science-Based Degree: A science-based degree is essential for this role.
  • Driving License: A full, clean driving license is essential.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, is essential.
  • Project Management Experience: Basic project management experience is desirable.
  • CSCS: CSCS certification is desirable.
  • First Aid: First aid certification is desirable.
  • Professional Membership: Working towards membership of a professional body is desirable.
  • Relevant Experience: Some relevant previous experience is an advantage.
