About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Science Communication Professional to join our team for a 12-month industrial placement. As a Science Communication Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting our science to a range of audiences through various channels, including websites, social media, video, audio, and graphics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and present our science through written, verbal, and visual channels
  • Support website and social media content creation and development
  • Develop case studies of staff and industrial work
  • Work with scientists and engineers to help deliver events
  • Support other communication team activities
  • Photography, videography, and graphic design of promotional material
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
  • Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
  • Able to commence employment in summer 2025
  • GCSE English or equivalent
  • Keen interest in science and science communication
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate good team working capabilities
  • The willingness to learn new skills, both technical and non-technical
