Job Description

Key Responsibilities

As a Science and Infrastructure Facilitation Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the coordination, planning, development, and implementation of the CMIP data archiving and dissemination. This includes providing facilitation support and management of relevant CMIP and WIP task teams and joint activities with the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF). You will also provide communication support to CMIP data infrastructure activities and engage with relevant communities, promoting equity and inclusivity in CMIP data access.

Qualifications and Experience

You will have a Master's degree in physical or climate sciences or any other appropriate scientific field, and at least three years of relevant work experience. You will also have expertise in scientific or data infrastructure project and program management and facilitation, experience with coding languages including Python, C, or Fortran, and expertise in working in an international environment with globally distributed teams.

Desirable Qualifications

A PhD in climate science, particularly climate modeling, qualification in project or program management, experience working with climate models and climate data, including familiarity with CMIP, and experience in science communication and outreach are also desirable.
