About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maternity Care Specialist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As an Assistant Practitioner - Maternity Care, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women and families throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside midwives to provide holistic and family-centered care to women and families.
  • Support women and families in navigating the health and social care landscape, recognizing their needs and risks, and promoting shared decision-making.
  • Deliver public health promotion and prevention activities, including smoking cessation and infant feeding support.
  • Participate in parent education and preparation sessions, promoting healthy lifestyles and empowering families to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement service improvement projects, reducing healthcare inequalities and improving outcomes for women and families.
Requirements
  • Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship (with maternity focus) or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant clinical experience in health and social settings, with a clear understanding of professional accountability, delegation, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and as a lone worker.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude to training and development.
