Site Installation Manager Job Description

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Site Installation Manager to join our team for a major HVDC project in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute civil engineering and cable installation works as part of the overall project execution.
  • Manage subcontractors and internal resources to ensure quality, health, and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor progress against project programme and suggest mitigations for schedule slippage.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks or realize opportunities.
  • Ensure work is performed according to health and safety and environmental plans and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Degree or formal qualification in civil engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in turn-key land cable installation projects, including civils and cable installation scope.
  • Qualifications: UK NVQ/SMSTS, CSCS card, and temporary works experience.
  • Languages: Fluent English, with additional languages an advantage.
  • Social Skills: Ability to establish good relations with client and subcontractor representatives.
  • Communication: Ability to write and review high-quality documentation, such as method statements and construction plans.
Planning and Scheduling:
  • Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on site.
  • Establish and demobilize site office for land installation.
  • Plan work on site to eliminate or minimize safety-related risks.
  • Ensure work is performed according to quality, health, and safety, and environmental plans.
Authorities:
  • Responsible for carrying out activities required to achieve installation or service part of a contract.
  • Has economical authorization via project delegation.
Reporting and Communication:
  • Report to Project Installation Manager or Senior Site Installation Manager.
  • Report status/progress in accordance with project reporting procedure.
  • Ensure registration of deviation of quality and HSE for installation/service part is carried out throughout project period.
