About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children Home Manager to lead our residential care team at Swaay Child And Adolescent Services Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for our young people, providing individualized care and support to meet their emotional, physical, and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the home, including staffing, budgets, and resources
  • Promote a culture of openness and equality of communication
  • Use the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) to provide attachment security for our young people
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of placement plans and risk assessments
  • Liaise with families and external agencies
  • Provide staff supervision and training, as well as performance management and support
  • Lead, guide, and motivate team members
  • Take part in recruitment and selection processes
  • Support the Therapy and Education programmes
Requirements
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
  • Achieved or be working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Management in Residential Childcare
  • At least 2 years' experience working with children/young people, preferably with emotional or behavioural difficulties/disrupted attachments
  • Experience in a managerial role within a residential setting
  • Knowledge of The Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018
  • Ability to uphold clear and consistent boundaries

Salary and Hours

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
