Job Title: Children's Home Manager

At Swaay Child And Adolescent Services Limited, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Home Manager to lead our residential team and create a nurturing environment for our vulnerable young people to thrive.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of child development, residential care, and leadership principles. As a Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the home, including staffing, budgets, and resources
  • Promoting a culture of openness, equality, and communication
  • Providing attachment security for our young people using the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE)
  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of placement plans and risk assessments
  • Liaising with families and external agencies
  • Providing staff supervision, training, and performance management
  • Leading and motivating the team to achieve excellent standards of care
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
  • Achieved or working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Management in Residential Childcare
  • At least 2 years' experience working with children/young people, preferably with emotional or behavioural difficulties/disrupted attachments
  • Experience in a managerial role within a residential setting
  • Knowledge of The Children's Home (England) Regulations 2015 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018
