London, Greater London, United Kingdom Imperial College London Full time

Imperial College London's Department of Brain Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Fellow to join our groundbreaking Small Vessel Disease Research Group. This exciting opportunity will allow you to contribute to a new research program dedicated to unraveling the complexities of cerebral small vessel disease, a prevalent cause of stroke and dementia.

Our multidisciplinary team combines expertise in Big Data analysis, MRI imaging, clinical cohorts, and clinical trials to gain a deeper understanding of this enigmatic disease. We aim to identify its underlying causes, elucidate the intricate pathways involved, and ultimately pave the way for effective treatments.

Your Role:
  • Lead patient recruitment, assessment, and follow-up within prospective cohort studies and randomized controlled trials.
  • Develop proficiency in physiological assessments such as transcranial ultrasound and manage research MRI scanning, including gas challenges.
  • Hone your skills in analyzing physiological data, MRI imaging, and statistical analysis of large datasets.
  • Manage your own research projects and administrative tasks effectively.
  • Contribute to the publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present your work at international conferences.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

We seek a dedicated physician with a clinical interest and experience in neurology, stroke, or geratology. Completion of Foundation Training, ideally with clinical experience aligned with specialty training in neurology, stroke, or geratology (ST3-5), is essential.

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and internet navigation.

This is a full-time research position offering the opportunity for professional growth and development within a dynamic research environment.
