Senior Clinical Research Fellow/Clinical Consultant

About the Role
The primary objective of this position is to provide support to the clinical and research activities of the National Prion Clinic and the relevant MRC Prion Unit at UCL Programme. Key responsibilities include assessing complex patients suspected of having prion disease, supervising clinical research fellows, and collaborating with consultant colleagues nationwide and at the National CJD Research and Surveillance Unit. The postholder will be expected to lead specific projects in consultation with Professors Collinge and Mead, and Dr Mok. As a member of the National Prion Clinic (NPC) team, the postholder will contribute to the development and implementation of research studies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a consultant neurologist or in a training post, expected to achieve CCT within 12 months. You will have a specialist interest in clinical and research aspects of cognitive and/or palliative neurology, or a specialist interest in prion diseases. This position will involve travel to see selected and often complex cases, as well as supervision of Clinical Research Fellows who will typically see more routine cases suspected of having prion diseases.
