Senior Clinical Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurologist to join our team as a Clinical Research Fellow in the field of Prion Disease. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical and research aspects of cognitive and/or palliative neurology, or a specialist interest in prion diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Assess complex patients suspected to have prion disease and provide clinical supervision to Clinical Research Fellows.
- Liaise with consultant colleagues around the country and at the National CJD Research and Surveillance Unit.
- Lead on specific projects in discussion with Professors Collinge and Mead, and Dr Mok.
- Contribute to research studies and develop areas of research of your own, setting research questions, designing projects, raising funds, managing project conduct and reporting conclusions to our peers and stakeholders.
- Play a role in strengthening our partnerships with patient organisations, colleagues at NCJDRSU, the relevant medical, scientific, and local community, and the media.
- Be a consultant neurologist, or in a training post and expected to achieve CCT within 12 months.
- Have a specialist interest in clinical and research aspects of cognitive and/or palliative neurology, or a specialist interest in prion diseases.
- Be able to travel around the country to see selected and often particularly complex cases.
- Have excellent communication and leadership skills.
