About the Role
Harland & Wolff is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subcategory Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, adding value, and improving business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
- Prepare and manage tenders, requests for proposals, and contracts to ensure best value for the company.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize procurement needs and develop category strategies.
- Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Conduct spend analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Provide guidance and support to procurement team members to ensure consistent application of procurement policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or supply chain management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through procurement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement software and systems, including e-sourcing and contract management tools.
