Supply Chain Strategist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Strategist to join our team at Harland & Wolff. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our supply chain strategy, driving operational efficiency, and adding value to our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with our business objectives
- Prepare tenders, EOI's, and Framework Agreements to ensure best practice
- Assist in the creation and delivery of templates to support procurement processes
- Support project teams in the onboarding of new suppliers and stakeholders
- Negotiate pricing with key suppliers in line with our group purchasing strategy
- Manage and develop our supply chain and procurement function to ensure continuous improvement
- Review and develop supplier onboarding processes and due diligence to support subcategory development
- Work with stakeholders to identify requirements for inclusion in categories
- Familiarize yourself with regulatory requirements and latest innovations in the category/subcategory area of expertise
- Cascade best practice and guidance to the remainder of the procurement team
- Liaise with suppliers on KPIs and contractual issues
- Map cost levers for subcategories and support the creation of value engineering models
- Support ESG metrics within the supplier base
- Deal with queries and complaints from internal departments
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree and staff and/or technical project/process management experience, or equivalent
- Relevant business, manufacturing, or engineering degree or proof of relevant experience
- MCIPS or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of different types of contracts, including any law/contract background
Additional Information
This role is accountable for assisting in the setting of direction and deployment of resources. You will provide support for project/process expertise and/or manage the coordination of activities of a section or department through subordinate supervisors/team leads and/or professional staff.
