Job Title: Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood in Greater Manchester.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide psychological support and care to young people aged 12-18 across four wards, working closely with Qualified Psychologists to deliver effective services that meet Cygnet's Healthcare objectives and national guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and score psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, and clinical formulation
  • Deliver individual and group interventions under supervision
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of psychological services
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements

We are looking for a strong team player with a good understanding of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk, and evidence-based interventions. A good degree in Psychology and further postgraduate training in applied psychology and mental health are desirable. Previous experience in in-patient mental health services and working with young people is essential.
