Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood in Greater Manchester.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the psychological care of young people within our hospital by assisting Qualified Psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of effective services. This will involve administration, scoring, and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, and supervised individual and group interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support Qualified Psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of effective services.
  2. Administer, score, and report write psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, and clinical formulation.
  3. Supervise individual and group interventions.
  4. Provide clinical supervision as part of personal and professional development.
  5. Support additional training and professional development.
Requirements

We are looking for a strong team player with a good understanding of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk, and evidence-based interventions. The ideal candidate will have a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant areas of applied psychology and mental health, and previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings. At least 6 months previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and group therapy sessions is desirable.

All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
