Role Overview:

The M&CA Regulatory Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping regulatory adaptations in response to the advanced technological capabilities of next-generation platforms. This position is essential in ensuring that regulatory compliance is integrated into all necessary requirements while maintaining safety, cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Ministry of Defence to gauge the appetite for regulatory changes in Continuing Airworthiness and assess their impact on future maintenance strategies.
  • Challenge existing norms regarding platform certification as the support package evolves towards innovative operational methodologies.
  • Engage with functional teams across the M&CA domain to ensure that Continuing Airworthiness Regulations are embedded in design processes, capturing clear actions to achieve compliance.
  • Support the development of future maintenance capabilities, particularly in alignment with M&CA objectives, and provide regular updates to the Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness Function.
  • Ensure that Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness considerations are integral to the future manufacturing strategy, particularly concerning upcoming regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • A degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience; IENG status is desirable, with a focus on progressing towards CEng.
  • Demonstrated application of M&CA competencies at a professional level.
  • Extensive knowledge of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, and systems, particularly Parts M, 21, 145, and 147.
  • Proven experience in a professional capacity within the M&CA field, guiding others in the application of relevant regulations and procedures.

Desirable:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the broader M&CA landscape, including recent developments and practices.
  • Insight into project-specific markets, customer needs, strategic priorities, and organizational culture.
  • A solid grasp of Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) regulations to support the program effectively.
