Salary: £54,000 – £60,000 (Based on skills and experience) Role Overview: The FCAS Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping regulatory changes influenced by the advanced capabilities of next-generation platforms. This position requires ensuring that Regulatory Compliance is integrated into all necessary requirements while maintaining safety, cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation. The specialist will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Defence to gauge the need for Continuing Airworthiness regulatory modifications and their impact on future maintenance strategies. This may involve reassessing existing certification processes as the support package explores innovative operational methods. Collaborating across the FCAS AP & FCAS SoS functional teams is essential to ensure that Continuing Airworthiness Regulations are embedded in design processes, with clear actions identified to achieve this goal. Additionally, support will be provided in developing future Maintenance capabilities, primarily in alignment with FCAS AP & FCAS SoS, while offering regular updates to the Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Function. It is vital to ensure that Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness considerations are integrated into the future Manufacturing strategy, particularly concerning the upcoming Continuing Airworthiness Regulations necessary for FCAS AP and FCAS SoS.Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
A degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience; IENG is desirable with a progression towards CEng. Application of relevant M&CA competencies is expected at this level. Extensive knowledge and understanding of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, procedures, and systems (notably Part M, 21, 145 & 147) are essential. Proven M&CA experience in a professional context is required, with the ability to guide others in the application of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, and procedures.Desirable:
A comprehensive understanding of the broader M&CA environment, including developments and practices in the field. A solid grasp of the project/s, its markets, customers, strategic priorities, and culture is beneficial. Familiarity with Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) regulations is crucial to support the FCAS SoS program.Employee Benefits:
