Compensation: Competitive salary range of £54,000 – £60,000, based on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- The FCAS AP Continuing Airworthiness Compliance Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping regulatory adaptations in response to the advanced technological features of next-generation platforms.
- This position requires a thorough consideration of Regulatory Compliance throughout all necessary requirements, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation.
- Collaboration with the Ministry of Defence is essential to gauge the appetite for changes in Continuing Airworthiness regulations and to assess their impact on future maintenance strategies. This may involve questioning existing certification processes as the support package evolves.
- Engagement with FCAS AP & FCAS SoS functional teams is crucial to ensure that Continuing Airworthiness Regulations are embedded in design processes, with clear actions documented to achieve compliance.
- Assist in the development of future Maintenance capabilities, primarily supporting FCAS AP & FCAS SoS, and provide regular updates to the Maintenance and Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Function.
- Ensure that Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness considerations are integral to the future Manufacturing strategy, particularly regarding upcoming Continuing Airworthiness Regulations necessary for FCAS AP and FCAS SoS.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- A degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent relevant experience; IENG is desirable, with a focus on progressing towards CEng.
- Application of relevant M&CA competencies is expected at this level.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, procedures, and systems (notably Part M, 21, 145 & 147).
- Extensive professional experience in M&CA demonstrated in a relevant capacity.
- Ability to guide others in the application of M&CA regulations, policies, processes, and procedures.
Desirable Attributes:
- Comprehensive understanding of the broader M&CA landscape, including developments and practices in the field.
- Solid grasp of project specifics, including markets, customers, strategic priorities, and organizational culture.
- A strong understanding of Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) regulations is essential to support the FCAS SoS program.
