Job Overview

ASOS is a leading online fashion retailer, and our Merchandising team plays a crucial role in ensuring we have the right products, at the right time, in the right place, and in the right quantities. As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will be responsible for the smooth-running day-to-day operations of the Merchandising department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast sales and stock levels to achieve sales plans and margin/profit targets for the department.
  • Monitor department performance and identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Work closely with the Buying teams to successfully range plan for the department.
  • Participate in trade meetings with Heads of and Directors.
  • Evaluate department performance, focusing on lead times and general performance.
  • Develop and manage Merchandising Administrators to encourage their development.
  • Manage the WSSI and support trade plans.
  • Support our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Merchandiser (or similar) in a Fashion Retail business.
  • Experience of planning weekly sales, stock, and intake management.
  • The confidence to manage and own a category, including participating in weekly trade meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of managing and developing team members (desirable).
  • Strong computer skills, in particular, Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools is desirable.
  • A passion and interest in online retail.
