Old Age Psychiatry Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in old age psychiatry.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
- Approved clinician status and S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in old age psychiatry, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of leading and managing teams.
