Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged to become a part of our community pharmacy team as a Pharmaceutical Care Coordinator, focusing on the management of medications within Care Facilities. Collaborating closely with our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, you will be instrumental in minimizing medication waste, restocking pharmaceuticals, and assisting Care Facility personnel in the safe handling of medications. This role is perfect for those looking to enhance their expertise and experience within a vibrant and diverse pharmacy environment, while contributing to the development of an innovative community role. Comprehensive training will be provided, including the completion of necessary qualifications. You will also spend time in the inpatient pharmacy department to foster your professional growth and integrate with the broader pharmacy team. Access to transportation is essential as you will be required to travel between various locations and visit Care Facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the ordering of medications as part of the pharmacy team dedicated to Care Facilities.
  • Assist pharmacists and technicians with checks on residents' personal medications to ensure timely access to pharmaceuticals, thereby reducing missed doses and waste.
  • Support staff in the proper storage of medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze audit data to demonstrate improvements in medication management.
  • Dispense medications for inpatients, outpatients, and discharges as part of the inpatient pharmacy service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services or a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone communication.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
  • Capacity to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
