Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Objective:

This role demands a proactive, customer-centric mindset, showcasing complete ownership and accountability for the execution and delivery of projects in collaboration with clients. It necessitates close cooperation with fellow Engineers, Project Managers, Operations Managers, and the Commercial Team to explore additional sales avenues.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct engineering design and commissioning for Digital Power initiatives, including Health & Safety documentation, Design, and Operations & Maintenance documentation.
  • Manage and deliver multiple projects to clients in accordance with Schneider Electric's Quality Management System and Health and Safety Management System.
  • Oversee comprehensive technical management of the projects.
  • Identify project challenges and implement proactive strategies for effective and timely resolution.
  • Act as a representative for Digital Power, cultivating essential relationships with clients and contractors. Participate in site meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants as necessary.
  • Be prepared for travel and occasionally work away from home within the UK or internationally.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience and a solid track record in Project Management related to automation control projects.
  • Strong understanding of modern control systems in electrical automation applications (e.g., SCADA, RTUs) and preferably experience with Schneider Electric products such as T300, Saitel RTU, Micom, Sepam, meters, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard protocols such as Modbus, IEC61850, DNP3, and related cybersecurity measures for designing communications for utility and industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with MV and LV electrical networks, three-phase power, switchgear, etc.
  • Experience in protection systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability to develop engineering solutions from concept through to site commissioning and witnessing.
  • Capable of fostering strong customer relationships and collaborating effectively with the sales team for change order management.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is essential; proficiency in another language is a plus.
  • Possession of a full driving license and a valid passport.
Educational Background:
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
