Training and Competence Specialist

Wood is seeking a skilled Training and Competence Advisor to support the management and delivery of training and competence services across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Interface with internal stakeholders, including Contract Teams, functions, and client stakeholders, to ensure effective training and competence delivery.
- Collaborate with the training management service provider (TMS) to deliver and monitor mandatory technical and safety training courses and certification.
- Develop and implement training programs for new starters, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Drive training compliance, renewal of expiring certification, and achievement of KPIs in conjunction with the TMS.
- Ensure the workforce has the correct training and certification to perform their roles safely, in accordance with statutory, client, or internal standards.
- Support team leads in change initiatives and implement revised training and competence frameworks.
- Manage and administer competence-related pay increments, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Provide subject matter expertise on training and competence matters, supporting the development of training processes and ensuring legislative compliance.
- Coordinate in-house training requirements, administer vocational qualifications, and provide administrative support to the Competence Assurance Team.
- Participate in standalone projects and support internal and external audits, ensuring efficient response times to queries and proactive ownership of data stored in various systems.
- Strong understanding of training and competence management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in using training management systems and electronic competence management systems.
