About the Role:

Glencar Construction is a leading contractor specializing in the creation of high-quality turnkey facilities. We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.
  • Produce design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrix, appointments, schedules to record progress, and upline reporting.
  • Ensure design compliance with relevant legislation and technical requirements.
  • Chair design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers.
  • Submit design information to the client team.
  • Ensure BREEAM compliance where required on projects in support of the sustainability team.
  • Coordinate the submission of information to ensure all planning conditions are discharged, with support of the Planning Consultant/Lead Designer.
  • Lead design review workshops with consultant and subcontract design teams to ensure clear understanding of design and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy Building Control compliance in support of the Building Control Officer.
  • Manage the design process and issue of information release schedules.
  • Provide input and design reviews into the procurement process.
  • Provide design & technical support to project management teams.
  • Work to the Company's Quality, Environmental and Safety Management System standards and performance criteria, including delivering the objectives set.
  • Cooperate on matters of health and safety and follow the training provided.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing design teams.
  • Awareness of and adherence to company policies and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to undertake project planning, project management, and work to budgets.
  • Excellent IT skills – proficient in suite of Microsoft programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
