NES Fircroft is a leading global workforce solutions provider to the energy, process and infrastructure industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to provide front-line technical support to our operations team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation and controls engineering, with experience in the design, operation, commissioning and maintenance of legacy instrument equipment, control systems and ESD systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as asset IPS engineering focal point for site projects, including studies, and provide technical discipline input to the Projects team.
  • Act as IPS single point of accountability for long-term Asset strategy and define and own the asset's IPS spares strategy.
  • Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Lead / contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments and investigations as the Instrument and Protective Systems engineering focal point.
  • Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for IPS equipment and key IPS engineering documentation.
  • Provide technical support to asset TAR activities and coach asset instrument technicians to ensure their competency and skills are continually improved.
  • Participate in incident management team and travel to Offshore Platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support.
  • Support planned and unplanned outages and participate in the Asset self-audit program.

Requirements

  • Candidates will hold a Degree in Instrument Engineering or a related field.
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status.
  • BOSIET, Medical and MIST for offshore travel.
  • 5+ years' experience including experience of O&G, Refining or Chemical Industries.
  • Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning and maintenance legacy instrument equipment, control systems and ESD systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH, etc) and industry standards.
