Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team at Kings College Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to our Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, managing a team of occupational therapists and assistants, and contributing to the overall Occupational Therapy strategy for the Denmark Hill site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Provide clinical leadership to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, ensuring a high-quality service that is evidence-based, effective, and efficient.
    • Manage a clinical caseload to a high standard, including assessment, interventions, and discharge planning.
    • Supervise, train, and provide day-to-day management to occupational therapists and assistants working within the service.
  • Service Development
    • Contribute to the development of the Occupational Therapy strategy for the Denmark Hill site.
    • Propose and action changes to improve the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service.
    • Develop and manage trauma and orthopaedic occupational therapy services.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Establish robust communication networks with patients, carers, multidisciplinary members, and other agencies.
    • Ensure a quality service for patients by maintaining a high standard in relation to communication with patients, liaison with referrers, and documentation of intervention.
  • Management and Administration
    • Keep comprehensive records of activity in accordance with local and national requirements.
    • Provide occupational therapy input to service planning, developments, and operational management.
    • Ensure management across trauma and orthopaedics of student placement offers and individually supervise and complete yearly appraisal with staff and/or students.
Requirements
  • Experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Band 7 and above.
  • Experience and knowledge of leading and managing a team.
  • Experience and skills of developing staff and leading with Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Experience and knowledge of service development.
